How Axiora Works

Axiora reads your birth data through two ancient systems — one from the West, one from the East — and synthesizes them into a single, unified picture of who you are and what timing you're in. This page explains both systems from first principles, so you understand exactly what Axiora is calculating.

Western Astrology: The Sky at Your Birth

Western astrology maps the positions of the Sun, Moon, and eight planets at the exact moment and location of your birth. These positions form your natal chart — a snapshot of the sky that astrologers have used for over 2,000 years to describe personality, timing, and relationships.

You are not just your Sun sign

Most people know their Sun sign — the zodiac sign the Sun occupied on their birthday. But the Sun is just one of twelve key placements in your chart. The most important three are:

• Sun sign — Your core identity, the conscious self you project into the world. Changes every ~30 days, so roughly 650 million people share your Sun sign.
• Moon sign — Your emotional world — how you feel, how you need to be nurtured, and what makes you feel safe. Changes every 2–3 days, making it far more personal than your Sun sign.
• Rising sign (Ascendant) — The mask you wear — how others first perceive you, your physical presence, your immediate instincts. Changes every ~2 hours, which is why birth time matters so much. Two people born on the same day can have completely different charts.

The rest of the planets

Beyond the Big Three, Axiora calculates the positions of Mercury (how you think and communicate), Venus (love style and values), Mars (how you take action), Jupiter (where you expand and get lucky), Saturn (where you're tested and where you build), and the outer planets (Uranus, Neptune, Pluto — generational forces that shape your era).

Each planet sits in one of twelve houses — the twelve areas of life (identity, money, communication, home, creativity, health, relationships, transformation, beliefs, career, community, and the unconscious). A planet's meaning shifts depending on which house it occupies.

Transits — why timing matters

Planets never stop moving. Today's planetary positions form angles (aspects) to the fixed positions in your natal chart — and these interactions are what drive daily and monthly insights. When Saturn crosses your natal Moon, you may feel emotionally restricted. When Jupiter crosses your Ascendant, doors open. Axiora tracks all of these in real time against your personal chart.

BaZi (Four Pillars of Destiny): The Elements at Your Birth

BaZi — known as 사주팔자 (사주) in Korean, 四柱推命 (しちゅうすいめい) in Japanese, 八字 in Chinese, Tứ Trụ in Vietnamese, and บาจื่อ in Thai — is a Chinese metaphysical system with over 3,000 years of history. It maps the elemental energy of your birth moment across four time pillars: Year, Month, Day, and Hour.

The Four Pillars

Every pillar consists of two layers: a Heavenly Stem (10 possible values, cycling through five elements in Yin/Yang polarity) and an Earthly Branch (12 possible values, corresponding to the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac). This gives each pillar a rich elemental signature.

• Year Pillar — The energy of your birth year. Reflects your social background, ancestral inheritance, and how your generation was shaped.
• Month Pillar — The energy of your birth month and season. Reflects your upbringing, early environment, and the "climate" that nurtured you.
• Day Pillar — The most important pillar. The Day Stem is your Day Master — the element that represents your core self in BaZi, equivalent to the Sun sign in Western astrology.
• Hour Pillar — The energy of your birth hour. Reflects your inner world, subconscious drives, and how you show up in later life.

The Day Master — who you are in BaZi

Your Day Master is one of ten Heavenly Stems: Yang Wood, Yin Wood, Yang Fire, Yin Fire, Yang Earth, Yin Earth, Yang Metal, Yin Metal, Yang Water, or Yin Water. Each has a distinct personality archetype. A Yang Wood person is like a tall oak — strong, ambitious, upward-reaching. A Yin Water person is like a gentle stream — adaptable, perceptive, able to find a path through any obstacle.

The strength of your Day Master — whether it is supported or challenged by the other elements in your chart — shapes your character, your health tendencies, and the conditions under which you thrive.

The Five Elements

BaZi is built on five elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water — and their cyclical relationships. Each element produces another (Wood feeds Fire, Fire creates Earth/ash, Earth contains Metal, Metal carries Water, Water nourishes Wood) and controls another (Wood breaks Earth, Earth dams Water, Water extinguishes Fire, Fire melts Metal, Metal cuts Wood). Your chart's elemental balance determines what kinds of years, people, and environments support you versus deplete you.

10-Year Luck Cycles — BaZi's long-range calendar

BaZi's most powerful feature is one Western astrology doesn't have: a structured 10-year timing framework. Beginning at a certain age (calculated from your birth date), each person enters a sequence of 10-year Luck Cycles, each governed by a new Heavenly Stem and Earthly Branch. These cycles define which decade of your life favors career, which favors love, which brings tests, and which brings breakthroughs — regardless of what is happening globally.

How Axiora Combines Both Systems

Western astrology excels at real-time precision — it tracks exactly what is happening in the sky today and how it interacts with your natal chart. BaZi excels at long-range framing — it defines the decade-level arc of your life and shows what conditions you were born into. Together, they are more complete than either alone:

• A daily insight might find a Mars transit activating your Ascendant (Western: bold action, possible conflict) while the BaZi day energy supports Metal elements (your Day Master is Metal: this is your element, lean in). The combined insight: "This is a strong day for decisive action — but expect friction from others who feel differently."
• A compatibility report might show Venus-Moon harmony between two charts (Western: emotional warmth, natural affection) while a Fire-Water Day Master clash (BaZi: opposing life approaches) explains why the relationship feels both close and difficult simultaneously.
• A yearly forecast might align Jupiter entering your 10th house (Western: career expansion) with a new 10-year Luck Cycle that strengthens your Day Master (BaZi: your peak decade). These two indicators together signal a transformative career period — not just a good year.

What Axiora Needs From You

Axiora requires three inputs to generate your full chart:

• Birth date — Sets your Sun sign, Moon sign (approximate), and all four BaZi pillars except the Hour.
• Birth time — Unlocks your Rising sign and BaZi Hour Pillar — the two most personal components of both systems. Without birth time, charts are calculated with reduced precision.
• Birth location — Required for accurate Rising sign calculation in Western astrology. The same birth moment at different latitudes produces different Ascendants.

The AI Synthesis Layer

Raw chart calculations are mathematical. What Axiora's AI does is interpret: it takes the combined signals from both systems and expresses them as clear, specific, actionable insights in plain language. The AI is trained to:
